March 29th saw a performance by The College of Idaho Langroise Trio and guest pianist Robyn Wells of “Like a Tree Planted By the River.”
This work was commissioned by the Langroise Trio to commemorate the city of Boise’s receiving of a sapling from the horse chestnut tree growing outside of Anne Frank’s hiding place in Amsterdam.
This concert was produced by the Idaho Human Rights Education Center, and featured an unforgettable exhibit of panels entitled, “Anne Frank: A History for Today.”
The exhibit also featured artworks by Garth Claassen, who I had the pleasure of collaborating with for this occasion (and for the work’s official premiere in January as a part of the Langroise Trio’s subscription series.
Please come back for updates for 2014 concerts. There are some more special events and performances to come!
